Yindyamarra Services was founded by Wiradjuri and Yorta Yorta woman, Katrina Filewood. Katrina grew up and lives on Dharug Country, in Western Sydney.
Yindyamarra Services is 100% Aboriginal-owned and operates from Western Sydney, NSW.
Yindyamarra means respect in the Wiradjuri language; it is a universal word that signifies doing things slowly and with respect, being gentle, polite, humble, and honourable.
Yindyamarra Services specialises in Aboriginal Consultancy, Counselling, Community Services, and Trauma-Informed Practices.
It offers an Aboriginal Consultancy Service that delivers high-quality, tailored professional services to meet the diverse needs of individuals as well as leading organisations and professionals.
Yindyamarra consults on and provides advice that is transparent, informed, and purposeful for the individuals and teams within organisations with which we collaborate.
This includes Reconciliation Actions Plans (RAP) consultations, Aboriginal Cultural Education and Workshops, and Aboriginal Advocacy Services to ensure culturally safe, culturally appropriate, and culturally responsive practices are adopted when collaborating with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
With lived experience and over 20 years of working in the corporate and community industries, Yindyamarra prides itself on working with a trauma-informed & recovery practice.
